Early Numenorean Armour

as part of my continuing education in Photoshop, I thought I'd go back in and re-work this old piece, which I was always very happy with from a design standpoint, but I felt I'd rushed the execution on it. This is much closer to what I'd seen in my head while drawing it back in 2014. Not much to say about the design itself that I didn't put in the commentary on the earlier version, but it sure was a pleasure to go back in and get a little closer in on the details (also greaves are always a good idea)

I suppose if anything I'm most pleased with the dunadan himself; Tolkien presents the men of westerness as a formidable race of people; nearly all are over six feet, strong, handsomely proportioned, good eyesight, good hearing, keen, discerning minds, deep emotional natures, fine artistic sensibilities. they occupy a place in the tales of the men of middle-earth similar to how the people of the dark ages must have thought of the Romans; these giants among men from the before-time who had the thinking and the doing of things beyond even the dreaming of themselves (as they say in 'Thunderdome')
